Why is Linkedin a useful tool?
Linkedin is an exceptionally useful tool for job seekers and employers of all professions and all ages. Not only does it allow industry veterans to boast their talents, skills, accomplishments and niches it also allows industry recruits to learn how to develop a reputable work history. Linkedin also allows employers to recruit the best fitting individual for their team. With its user friendly interface, linkedin is an amazing tool for both employers and employees. There are many useful features linkedin offers but three features I find beneficial are professional gallery, the skill assessments and the resume creator in its premium option.
What is professional gallery on Linkedin and how can it benefit me?
Linkedin has an amazing feature that allows individuals to post work relevant visuals called “Professional Gallery”. Not only does it allow creatives to show previous work and what they're capable of producing, it allows the analytical types to show research papers, previous sale presentations, theories etc. This feature allows me to show future customers products I have for sale and products in development. It will also allow me to upload speeches or lectures that are relevant to the life coaching services I also offer. As a creative I appreciate that linkedin has this feature so others can have more of a visual as to what I can offer in the business world or to a future employer.
What other features does Linkedin have that is useful? What i don't like about Linkedin:
The skill assessment feature is another admirable tool offered on Linkedin. The major benefit I personally see with skill assessment is that it allows me to self reflect and develop weaker skills. The resume creator offered with Linkedin's premium option helps individuals build a professional resume that is up to industry standards. I do not like the fact that it is an option that has to be paid for, but resumes are our first impressions and a professional resume would give me a far better chance to attain employment. Linkedin is a useful tool for job seekers and employers because it allows us to connect not only on a professional level, the personalized option allows us to connect personally as well.
